Happy holidays, dear friends! I hope my U.S readers had a lovely Thanksgiving.
We’re taking a break from fashion pics today to host a special holiday giveaway! You’ve heard me gush about accessories from Handmade Expressions in previous posts, and now for some holiday fun I’m giving away a couple of pieces. One reader will win a beautiful fair trade shoulder bag crafted from recycled fabric and a handmade journal with paper made from recycled cotton.
You can earn a total of two (2) entries by choosing from the following methods:
1. Leave a comment on this blog post with your favorite (or least favorite) part of the holiday season.
2. Like Beyond the Fried on Facebook (and then come back and leave a separate comment to let me know!).
3. Tweet about this contest (and then leave a separate comment and let me know.).
The contest will be open until 11:59pm central time on December 20 and is open only to residents of the 48 contiguous U.S. states. The winner will be chosen via random.org and notified via email.
Good luck, and have fun!
Hi, Christy!
My favorite part of the holidays is (1) seeing or hearing from family. <3
A rather material enjoyment I have is (2) searching for gift ideas and bargains. Throughout the year, I look around at things and catch any bargains or ideas I can. And then, at this time of year, there are many, also, though at this point I'm either done or search via the web.
Then, ultimately, I love (3) singing and hearing the Christmas carols and sending those praises up to God for His gift of Jesus.
Love, Your Aunt Jem
My favorite part of the holidays is Christmas morning breakfast! We get together at my parents house and have all the wonderful tasting but horrible-for-your-health foods that you would never eat at any other time! I also love Christmas music. I don’t let anyone play or sing Christmas songs until the day after Thanksgiving and it’s always fun to hear all my favorites again!
My favorite part of the holidays is all of the fun (and free!) things that there are to do. Christmas parties, parades, programs at church, a walk-through-Bethleham, driving around to see Christmas lights, etc. So much fun!
I liked your Facebook page. 😉
I had already “liked” your “Beyond the Fried” page. Love your blog! 🙂
I second!
I’m not sure what my favorite part of the holidays are yet as an adult and parent orchestrating it… I have such fond memories of making sugar cookies with my mom, playing with treats on the way to visit my granparents after Christmas breakfast…. I guess I’m still working hard to plant those seeds for my kids. Thanks for the inspiration – I’ll be more aware of it going into remembering my favorite times the next few weeks 🙂

My favorite part of the season is Christmas music. I love it! (and I liked your page on FB).
I tweeted! @lesleyeats
And the winner is Jelaine McCamish! Thanks for entering, everybody!
You’re kidding! Thank you so much!
I feel so fortunate to have won this wonderful prize from “Handmade Expressions”. These products are high quality.
I just absolutely love this purse and the book! They are even better looking “in person” than in the picture.
The purse has “bling” with some shiny beading and other shiny embellishments. Do you see the circles on the red/orange section on the picture? Those are shiny flat embellishments, plus it also contains shiny thread. The purse is very sturdy, too, and I would feel safe putting my wallets, water bottle, date book, etc. in it. The inside is larger than you would think, though it is not so large as to be cumbersome. The long strap can be worn cross-body or off one shoulder; it could also be carried twisted around your hand or wrist. It has an outside, velcroed flap pocket, with two smaller, open pockets on the inside. Any of the pockets could be used for a cell phone or glasses.
The book is reminiscent of an antique. Its wonderful pages would be great for doing some small watercolors or writing down some favorite verses or thoughts that you want to keep to inspire you.
It also came with a very nice, woven gift bag.
I’m really impressed with “Handmade Expressions”, and I want to thank Christy for the honor of my winning these prizes.
