As I sat down on my three-year-old’s bed this morning, he opened his eyes, wiggled over to me, and rested his head in my lap.
I wished that we could stay that way all morning. I wished that we had nowhere to go and no tasks to complete.
Summer is coming.
I’m ready for those long days with nothing planned.
Did your weeks become busier and busier as spring arrived? I’ve managed to fill up our days. Where we once had breathing space, with time for playdates and spontaneous walks to the library, we now have every moment filled with activity.
I’m ready to slow down and savor the languid days to come.
I’m hoping for a blank slate, a time to evaluate what’s working and what’s overloading our little family.
Summer is coming. And I am ready.
Amen!
