I’m back! After a lovely hiatus, I decided to dive back into blogging. Actually, I’m really just dipping my toe into the water. The kids and I have summer colds, and while they have enough energy to create elaborate Lego structures, I’m feeling my brain go into zombie mode.

Today I’m linking up with Leigh Kramer for What I’m Into

What a crazy month! July was filled with birthday parties, pool outings, and friends from far away. I ditched much of my introvert tendencies to cram in more activities. That was fun, but I got a little punchy by the end of the month (and now I’m sick!). Methinks it’s time for more solitary coffee shop outings.

Books
I started re-reading Facing Codependence. This books was incredibly helpful to me a few years ago. I thought I could use brushing up on some of the principles, but I got pretty bogged down in it. So I haven’t picked it up in a few weeks.

Since I found myself in need of lighter fare for the month, I joined Shannon Hale’s annual reading of The Goose Girl. Of course I couldn’t stop there, so I also read Enna Burning and River Secrets. My friend Erin released her latest, Rhinebows and Unicorns, which I bought and read right away.

Currently I’m reading Quiet by Susan Cain. Waiting next in line is The Once and Future King.

Movies/TV
I’m watching Season/Series 2 of Call the Midwife while it is still free on the PBS website. I’ll pick back up with Merlin after I finish it. Husband and I are watching through the classic Doctor Who episodes available on Netflix.

Music
I don’t listen to much music right now. Sadness. I think my life contains so much sensory input that I usually can’t add anything else. When I do have a moment to listen to something, I’ve been listening to the Heroine soundtrack. Sigh. I heart Bollywood. I’ve also been loving a mix CD a friend made me — Fitz and The Tantrums, Jamie Lidell, Yo La Tengo…..she upped my coolness factor significantly with one CD.

Things I Love
Mug brownies, snuggly cats, weekends with no scheduled events, nights out with friends, nights at home with the husband, snuggly kids, goofy kids, giant lego creations, CSA cooking experiments (ok, that’s a love/hate), the zoo, and faux-October weather.

I should probably add links throughout this post, but I’m going to be honest here — my kids are arguing, I’ve run out of energy, and it’s almost time for lunch. If I try to make this post perfect, it will never get posted. So instead I will bid you adieu, and hopefully I’ll be back soon!
