Happy new year, gang. I spent the first week of the year traveling to see my sister-in-law marry her best friend. Good start to the year, right? Personally I think romance and flowers and seven(!) types of wedding cake are a lovely way to spend a weekend.
The little guys were so great, too. They had small roles in the wedding, and they were champs at staying quiet and still. Amazing!
We drove home on Sunday and Monday, and I feel like I am still recovering from the trip over all. We had wonderful accommodations and saw so many terrific friends and family, but I find myself still trying to get my bearings. Does anybody else out there feel a little crazy after traveling?
January also marks the start of birthday season for our family. My turn was on Monday, and even though our whole family was crammed in a hotel room in Arkansas, Paul managed to sneak out and bring me breakfast in bed. Major husband points!
Tomorrow David turns two, and I’m working on some ways to make his day extra special. This plan mostly involves a balloon. And a cupcake.
Friends, I hope this year is fun and hopeful for you so far. Thank you for hanging out with me here. I look forward to seeing what 2013 will bring.
Yay! Thanks for the shout out (seven is the number of perfection, after all!). I missed this post until now. I know how you mean by the travel lag – I don’t care if you cross time zones or not! I’m feeling like I’m just getting my feet on the ground and the semester is starting. But married life is grand. Cheers!
