I had a blast hangin’ out with my friend Aemilia in Five Points on Saturday. First we stopped at Batter’d & Fried for a tasty lunch. Then we walked to Art & Invention to take a look at their latest show, paintings by Duy Huynh. I love this guy’s work . . . if the paintings weren’t priced around $3000 each, I would have them all over my house. Another highlight of the Art & Invention visit was seeing all the crafts, paintings, and sculptures available from local artists.
Next Em and I walked up to V and Pied Piper Creamery. This was my first trip to Pied Piper since it opened, and I was ready for some ice cream. I was planning on getting cookies and cream, but I decided to try a spoonful of Trailer Trash because I had heard rave reviews about it. I ended up buying a whole cone of it. My hubby is a vanilla fan, so I took some Vanilla Ice Ice Baby home to him. He gave it his homemade ice cream seal of approval.
I also got to try another Pied Piper flavor on Sunday . . . Paul and I went to Batter’d & Fried to watch the Predators game, and they had made some yummy additions to their dessert menu — crème brûlée and German Chocolate ice cream from Pied Piper. The ice cream tasted just like a German chocolate cake, except cold. Thanks to Matt and Josef for adding it to the menu.
