Pants: Liz Alig (fair trade, recycled) | Shoes: Nisolo (made with transparency) | Sweater: Gap (clothing swap) | Shirt: Express | Scarf: FashionABLE (fair trade) | Earrings: Ten Thousand Villages (fair trade)
I fell in love with these ikat pants at a Liz Alig trunk show last fall. I tend to have a limited pants vocabulary (jeans, and then more jeans), and I was excited to find a kid-friendly way to add some extra style to my wardrobe.
The pants I ordered fit a bit differently than what I tried on originally — each pair is unique because they are handcrafted with recycled fabric. I decided to have the pants tailored to my legs for an extra level of fit and personalization. As I buy higher quality, sweatshop-free clothes to become my long-lasting closet staples, I’m discovering they are worth that extra care.
I combined the pants with a favorite clothing swap sweater and my Nisolo flats, plus a fashionABLE scarf and fair trade earrings for an easy, layered outfit warm enough for most Tennessee winter days.
