Fire your perfectionism and your procrastination will quit too. — Ann Voskamp
Hello, friends. Are you looking back on holiday if-onlys or preparing for those new resolutions?
Take a moment to remind yourself that you are a human being, not a human doing. You don’t have to prove your worth with your task list.
If you are getting bogged down in the starting, the ending, or anywhere in between, I have a message for you:
If you need a daily reminder, feel free to download (PDF) that saying, print it out, and hang it somewhere to remind yourself that you are enough. Let’s accept the grace we have been given, take a deep breath, and move forward into 2016 knowing that we are free to live, work, love, craft, plan birthdays, feed friends, and serve communities all without the bonds of perfection.
Happy New Year!
Thank you. I tend to be a perfectionist and that can stop me from even starting things. I get overwhelmed instead of taking it one thing at a time. I also am rarely as appreciative or accepting of my efforts as I am of others. Another mom I’ll thank for her involvement without a single “she could’ve/should’ve done more, myself I’ll wrack with what ifs and that list of the things I didn’t do. Have a fabulous and gentle New Year.
