Each August the inhabitants of my neighborhood don costumes, take to the streets, and celebrate the tomato.
The Tomato Art Fest is one of my favorite events each year. The vintage dress and silk scarf have become my uniform for the event, and this year I added a dash of fair trade with my tomato-red Nisolo flats and brass star earrings from MADE.
This year we braved the heat and humidity and piled our tomato-costumed kids in a wagon so they could be part of the second line parade. I love how the festival serves as an excuse for our community to show off the quirkiness that makes it a wonderful place to live.
A couple of quick side notes — have you guys seen the Wildly Co Kickstarter Campaign? Wildly Co is starting a line of affordable, ethically made kids clothes. I definitely want to help this happen!
Also, the folks at Prosperity Candle wanted me to let you guys know about their fantastic 50% sale happening right now. Head over there for some great deals on beautiful fair trade candles and to learn more about how they are spreading hope all over the world.
I’d love to see your favorite fair trade style! Remember to leave a link in the comments or tag a pic with #fairfashionfri. Have a lovely weekend!
