The Parative Project

What if the shirts we wear speak not just to those around us, but also to the people who make them? The Parative Project is using shirts to take two messages — “You are loved” and “Our freedom is tied together” to survivors of human trafficking in India.

Drew Oxley has been in the business of hip t-shirts for years. After learning about the devastating global impact of human trafficking, Oxley began raising awareness with conversation-starting shirts, also donating a percentage of his profits to causes such as International Justice Mission.

Now The Parative Project is looking to take an even bigger role in the fight against human trafficking. The company recently launched a Kickstarter to fund the shift of all production to two organizations that employ survivors of trafficking and forced labor. If the Kickstarter is successfully funded, Parative will move production to India, where Freeset and The Aruna Project give trafficking victims a safe place to work and a way to earn a living.

My favorites of Parative’s Kickstarter rewards are the “Land of the Dreamer” flag (I want that for my boys’ rooms!) and the opportunity to have custom t-shirts created by the workers at Freeset. Visit The Parative Project’s Kickstarter to check out more of their world-changing designs and find out how you can join the battle against human trafficking.
