So when my friend Jen referenced dreary March after I posted about the January blues, I was like, “Shut up, March will be awesome.”

Well.

March has been awesome on some days. And not so great on others. We’re on spring break this week, which has involved epic highs (sightseeing Saturn V rockets, visiting my college roommate) and dramatic lows (stomach virus at a trampoline park).

Balance has been a struggle, as I figure out friend time versus solitary recharge time, industry versus rest. I feel I am not alone in this, as the weather itself seems unable to decide if it’s winter or spring.

All in all, I’m still finding life to be a bit more of a struggle than I expect it to be. Everything takes a little more energy; a few more things go undone.

Gradually, though, I think I’m emerging. I spackled a wall to prep for new paint and started rehabbing an old armoire. Those projects have been stalled for a week, but I’m holding on to the creative spark and energy I felt while working to remind myself that it exists.

So I’ll press on, or perhaps take a nap. Either way, I’m thankful that a new season may be breaking through the clouds.
